Hello Community Members and Other Key Stakeholders,
I am very excited to announce that Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas is hosting and will provide opening remarks at a Los Angeles Community Choice Energy public workshop, co-hosted by the Empowerment Congress, where we will provide updates on the program status, implementation, and schedule. Most importantly, we will use this workshop to solicit input from you on the formation of a Community Advisory Committee that will provide a crucial link between the LACCE Authority board of directors and the communities they serve. We will seek your ideas on how to best structure and fill the Community Advisory Committee, and how it can best fulfill its important community-centered mission. I encourage you to join us at this important meeting!
I am also very excited to provide a brief update on the progress we’ve made the past few months as we implement Los Angeles Community Choice Energy. We are thrilled that Calabasas, Rolling Hills Estates, and South Pasadena have all voted to join the program and we have been kept very busy making presentations to cities throughout the county. We are now working closely with a number of other interested cities who plan to join LACCE in the coming months. As such, we expect to be holding the first meeting of the LACCE Authority board of directors in late July and are firmly on track to begin providing electric service in January 2018.
