In this section, we cover clean energy developments coming out of the eight counties in the San Joaquin Valley. One of the first Community Choice efforts in California, though unsuccessful, started in Fresno County.
The San Francisco Bay Area is experiencing a groundswell of Community Choice activity. CleanPowerSF launched in May 2016 and Silicon Valley Clean Energy, Peninsula Clean Energy, and the communities of Alameda and San Jose are advancing programs.
This section covers two tri-county Community Choice efforts currently underway: one that consists of the counties of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura; and the other that includes the counties of Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito.
