Local governments across California play a vital role in shaping the state’s energy future and advancing sustainability. In this webinar, you will learn about two Advanced Energy Community Projects in Menlo Park and Fresno.
*Top Measures for Cities and Counties to Accelerate Clean Local Energy and Decarbonize* Menlo Spark researched the most innovative local government efforts that serve as ideal models for other communities to adopt towards their climate action plan and clean energy goals. This webinar will highlight our top findings on the best practices for encouraging the development of a clean energy future across five areas: energy efficiency, renewable energy, zero net energy, energy storage, and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
*Energize Fresno* The Energize Fresno team has been working to design a roadmap for Fresno to become an Advanced Energy Community. Over the past year and a half, we have identified projects that deliver significant resource savings and attract more investment into the community and developed a tool that streamlines the project-funding matching process to accelerate action and raise the visibility of energy, water, and transportation investment opportunities in the city. The resources and reports developed under the Energize Fresno EPIC grant can serve as a case study for future municipalities, and provide streamlined processes and tools for overcoming common hurdles, such as lack of funding opportunities and cultivating a portfolio of applicable projects.
