Residents of La Mesa, California hear from Ty Tosdal, an energy regulation lawyer, on the benefits of Community Choice Energy. Tosdal spoke to dozens of people including members of the city’s planning commission and commission on environmental sustainability.
“The city would decide what locally generated energy would be offered, and it could decide just how “local” those projects would be, Tosdal said. Additionally, residents would get to decide how much renewable energy they want, from a small amount all the way to 100 percent, and from what project or projects.”
