Description

This webinar was the second in a series of four webinars on the importance of integrated distributed energy resources (IDERs) to Community Choice agencies (CCAs). This webinar focused  on energy storage and the opportunities it affords to CCAs as they develop local programs and projects. Presenters are Rick Brown and Cordel Stillman.

Dr. Brown launched TerraVerde, an energy advisory firm in 2009. Over the past eight years TerraVerde has developed $390 Million of DERs on behalf of Schools and other public agencies. More recently TerraVerde is developing programs and tools for CCAs and other Load Serving Entities through CEC and NREL R&D grants to support implementation of DERs. Dr. Brown will introduce some real world examples of battery storage and the benefits it provides, and potential deployment models that may be adopted by CCAs.

Cordel Stillman is the Director of Programs for Sonoma Clean Power, California’s second Community Choice agency which launched service in 2014. Mr. Stillman will share SCP’s approach to storage and information about SCP’s recently launched storage program for commercial & industrial customers.
