Clean Power Exchange is a project of the Center for Climate Protection (CCP). Clean Power Exchange serves as a hub of information, resources, and conversation for communities considering a Community Choice Energy program to facilitate their process.
Dedicated to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, CCP launched Clean Power Exchange to accelerate the growth of Community Choice Energy programs across California and beyond.
Community Choice Energy is the most powerful, cost-effective, local solution for significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions, according to analysis that CCP conducted in 2005. That is why CCP initiated and led the process to create the state’s second Community Choice Energy program (after Marin Clean Energy. In May 2014, Sonoma Clean Power began offering service, saving its customers about $14 million in its first year of operation and reducing GHG emissions almost 50% of PG&E’s emissions.
