The purpose of the Local Development Business Plan (LDBP) is to provide a roadmap for
accelerating the deployment of local clean energy resources through Alameda County’s
Community Choice Energy program—East Bay Community Energy (EBCE). The LDBP
Community Engagement Symposium will provide an interactive forum for review and
discussion of the Draft LDBP Work Products and Scenarios.
Goals of the Symposium
Robust community stakeholder engagement has been an integral component of the LDBP
project, and community input has supported the development of a unique and innovative
plan that will help EBCE maximize local environmental, economic and social benefits. The
LDBP Community Engagement Symposium is intended to be an important step in this
extensive LDBP stakeholder engagement process. The goal of this special event is to
present the core elements and themes of the anticipated plan and provide meaningful
opportunities for community stakeholders to engage with the material and the LDBP
Project Team and contribute to the formulation of the plan.
What to expect
The Symposium will be an all-day, no-cost (coffee, light refreshments and catered lunch
included) public event. The event will kick off with a morning Plenary Session, which will
feature special guests and presentations by members of the LDBP Project Team intended
to provide valuable insights and themes that set the context for engaging with the
material during the morning and afternoon Workshops (see Workshop Topics on right).
Please note that each of the Workshops will be offered twice to allow the broadest
possible opportunity for attendees to engage with topics of interest. LDBP Project Team
members will provide additional information and interactive opportunities for Workshop
participants to contribute and provide input on elements of the LDBP. The event will
conclude with a closing Plenary Session to bring everyone back together to discuss the
high-points of the Workshops.
